BERWYN GIBBONS THEATRE TRUST APPLICATIONS

PURPOSE OF THE TRUST:
This Trust has been formed to create a fund to assist any groups or individuals specifically those training or employed in the field of theatre, television or film.

In particular the Trust will consider to;
provide funding grants for educational course fees and/or books;
provide funding grants for fares to/from educational courses;
provide limited funding grants for general living expenses away from home; and
provide other support and assistance consistent with this charitable purpose.

All funding requests must be for the purposes of supporting projects/activities either in New Zealand or for a New Zealand citizen travelling overseas specifically for the project/activity.

TIMELINE:
The Trust will call for grant applications in August.
The Trust will confirm receipt of your application.
Applications will close each year on 31st October.
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by the end of November.
It is anticipated that grants will be made annually.

A timeline for expenditure of the grant will be agreed between the Trust and the organisation receiving the grant. Should circumstances change, this may be renegotiated with agreement from both parties.

TRUST FINANCIAL CAPACITY:
It is expected that grant applications would be made for amounts in the hundreds rather than the thousands of dollars. Each year, the trust expects to grant around $5000 over several applications.

CONDITIONS:
Applications may be forwarded from a recognised non-profit making institution or incorporated society on behalf of themselves or on behalf of an individual, or from an individual directly.

If the application is on behalf of an individual or from an individual directly, (e.g. requesting support with fee payment to a theatre technician course), some form of evidence would be required that such financial support would be necessary for the individual to achieve his/her goals.

Decisions made by the Trust to accept or decline applications are final.

Any monies granted by the Trust that are no longer needed for the purpose for which they were given will be returned to the Trust within a specified timeline.

FEEDBACK:
The Trust will require a written report and a financial statement within six weeks of completion of the project/activity.

Should the activity/project involve a performance of some sort, the Trust requests two complimentary tickets.
An invitation to observe work in progress would also be appreciated.
